Personal finance classroom lessons

Each activity fits one class period and includes a fictional scenario, a separate student handout, checked tools, an answer key, and a four-point evidence check. Open any teacher guide to download the complete printable packet. No account, roster, or personal financial information is required.

The six lessons cover all national personal finance topics. Start from the Grade 12 standards crosswalk when you need a particular outcome, or use the assignment builder for additional checked practice.

III. Saving

Measure what savings can buy

30 minutes Saving 12-4b

Students compare a 4 percent nominal return with 3 percent inflation, calculate the exact real return, and explain why a larger statement balance need not mean 4 percent more purchasing power.

Classroom boundary

Every scenario is fictional. Students should not enter income, debts, account balances, policy details, or other personal information. These lessons supplement a teacher-selected curriculum and remain educational material, not financial advice.
